Before and After School Program

The Before and After School Program is a fee-based program for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. We provide a safe and caring environment for your child/children to interact and participate in enrichment activities. Please stop by our before/after school room for an application.

Hours of Operation

6:30 – 8:30 am & 3:30 – 6:00 pm

We are open each day school is in session, including early dismissal days.



Registration Fee: $20.00 - 1 child; $25.00 - family (non-refundable)


Before School:7:00am - 8:30am

After School:3:30pm - 6:00pm

$8.00/day for 1 child

$4.00/day for each additional child


$12.00/day for 1 child

$6.00/day for each additional child

Children picked up between 3:30-4:00 will be $5.00/day per child



Late Payment Fee: $10.00 each week, per child

Late Pick Up Fee: $1.00 per minute after 6:00



Payments are due on the first day of attendance every week.

The Florida Constitution Article VII prohibits the School District of Lee County to extend credit to any individual. Due to these guidelines, we must adhere to this policy.


Insufficient Funds/Returned Checks

The amount of the returned check must be paid in cash.

Upon return of a second check, the program fees must be paid in cash for the remainder of the school year.


Paying by Check

Include child’s first and last name in the check memo area.

Make check payable to Gateway Elementary School.


Drop-Off Policy

The morning program begins at 7:00 am

For safety reasons, parents must walk students into the before school room each morning and sign students in.


Pick-Up Policy

Parents must walk into the after school room and sign out students.

For your child’s safety, a photo ID may be required when picking up students.

Unauthorized persons will NOT be permitted to remove a child from the facility.

There will be a 30 minute homework session Monday through Thursday. In the event homework is completed early your child is required to have a book to read at all times. It would be helpful if you could check your child’s book bag for the following supplies needed when attending the program throughout the year: Pencils, notebook paper, homework materials, book


Internet Permission

Children will be allowed to use the computers on a regular basis. Students may use the internet guided by one of our after school teachers. There are only a few web sites the students are able to use. The search engine is filtered by the Lee County School District.



Any medications that your child/children need to take during program hours must be registered with the Program Director and the school clinic. If a child receives medication during the program hours, the parents MUST fill out an authorization form and return it to school.


A healthy snack will be provided by the After School Program. You may also send a healthy snack from home; however, candy and soda are not allowed

Toys, Games and Personal Items

Please put your child’s name on all personal belongs (book bag, lunch box, coats/jackets).

Toys, cell phones, iPods, games, and electronic devices must be kept at home.
